CD Symposium
Developing Capacity from Rio to Reality: Who's Taking the Lead?

Fostering the Adoption and Adaptation of Innovative Solutions for Water Challenges

This session deals with the transfer of innovations in the field of water to support the development agenda. It is aiming to address how we can mutually reinforce two objectives, i.e. creating market opportunities for water innovations while contributing to sustainable development and the Millennium Development Goals. The session tries to bring out lessons on how the pitfalls for the transfer of innovations can be avoided in a development context. Moreover, it explores what the role of partnerships can be in creating opportunities for the application of innovations in developing countries. Drawing on the experience of academia and the private sector, the session is aiming to generate some answers to these questions.
