Developing Capacity from Rio to Reality: Who's Taking the Lead?

Virtual and Global Campus

Innovative learning methods present opportunities as well as challenges. How can water capacity developers keep track of innovation in education, the benefits of technical platforms and how these can be used to reach different target groups?

Virtual training facilitates access to updated knowledge contents; an interactive learning process; a group setting which motivates exchange between participants and between participants and trainers; and the permanent guidance given by qualified trainers, tutors, and technical support. Regional or even global cooperation in the design and implementation of education programmes offers many synergies and new possibilities to upscale the impact of education and training. On the other hand, new challenges emerge that relate, among others, to quality assurance and the development of learning skills and attitude. Relevant programmes will be presented as cases for how to design and implement virtual and global learning. Significant elements for innovative capacity development programmes will be identified during group discussions.
